One of these days letters are going to fall from the sky

HELLO FRIENDS NEW AND OLD. HAPPY MARCH!

So..here 3 things that smack of goodness:
1. [livejournal.com profile] reel_merlin   signups! Seeing as I've been having a bit of fun with fic writing, I thought I'd try to sign up for something like this.  I read the completed entries over there in the fall and then asked myself "Self, what movie would I want to cross over with Merlin?". And then it hit me and refused to go away...I want a Merlinized version of The Fifth Element. With Arthur!Corbin Dallas and Merlin!Lilu. That's right, Merlin is going to be Milla Jovovich, only with magic instead of martial skills and no orange hair. I might be crazy, BUT I'M EXCITED, FOLKS.

2. March! Which means spring is on its way and kayak season is almost here! (Until I get a drysuit and perfect my roll..then it's on all 4 seasons)

3. Explaining plate tectonics to my coworkers using pizza slices and spatulas for props.

And 3 photos I for the road

That's a Sheppard Fairey piece (of HOPE poster fame) near work

Took these on the way to work today. I didn't do it, honest!

OH GOSH MERLIN AS LILU IS AMAZING.

It's still February here. :( I want it to be March though, because a) it's my birthday month and b) Green Zone! (I have a thing for Matt Damon and I loved the Bourne movies, soo. . . (same director for both movies))

I so badly want to participate in [livejournal.com profile] reel_merlin as well, but I'm afraid to say which one I want to do because I don't want it to be taken.

I've never been kayaking. How did you get into it?

I'm hoping The Fifth Element won't be taken..pretty sure it won't because it isn't even on the prompt list but I like to live dangerously.

Well..technically it is still Feb. here too..but it's Sunday night and March is tomorrow so I rounded up :)

Kayaking is amazing! I mostly go in the ocean but rivers are nice for practice and scenery (well...most rivers anyway, I haven't done whitewhater). I got into sea kayaking through my mom, who got into it through her boyfriend. I tried it for the first time in Fall '08 and took to it quickly. It can be very challenging at times and I am still learning, but so far so good!
