It is tough to find a job, so I did feel guilty about leaving the restaurant even though it was (like a lot of foodservice jobs) stressful and underpaying. I was thinking I shouldn't leave because I was lucky to have any job, but it was also making me a little crazy, and I didn't burn any bridges there so I suppose I could go back if I really needed to.
I think when you live near a place, you don't always visit the "landmarks" because you forget they're there and/or it's easy to say "I'll go there sometime". I did go to Coney Island when I lived near NYC, but it was with friends who lived in Brookyln and had never been!
