Square cut or pear shaped, these rocks don't lose their shape

I am ridiculously stressed out, so when I got home today decided to make some earrings. I have very basic skills, but even so the process of going through all my random beads, putting together a nice looking combination, crimping the wire, etc. is a good way to get me absorbed in an activity that isn't me thinking about....everything.

However, I don't actually ever wear jewelry, and not wearing what I make leads to an accumulation of earring pairs that inevitably lose their partners and whatnot, so I give them away. Hence the following:

FREE TO A GOOD HOME

The bottom bead is real tiger's eye, the center bead is a dark green (it's a crappy webcam photo as the battery pack for my digital is charging...sorry), and as you can see the top bead is clear. The beads aren't uniform, but isn't that part of their charm? I'd guess the bead portion is about an inch long. The earring part is just a standard silver-color hook. They're basic (as are my skills) and probably not very trendy, but if you want them let me know!! If you take 'em apart just for the tiger's eye beads, I won't be insulted :)

Anyway, I have a good idea for a series of posts, but I'm not entirely sure about it. It involves food, the alphabet, and some reflections, which are maybe too self important for my own taste? I don't know...I'll have to think on it some more.

If anyone wants the earrings, leave a comment or send a PM (I only have one pair so READY SET GO!!). Who knows, if they go maybe I will put more up if I make any more good ones (I have more tiger's eye beads to play with!)

Aw, I'd love them but I have stretched ears so they would be wasted on me. ;)

Hope you feel better hon. *hugs*

Thank you! Stress is my m.o. these days it seems.

I love the way stretched ears look...that would be more my style but always had too many sports going on for any jewelry at all! What gauge do you wear?

I'm up at a 2 right now, altho I go in between sizes right now because that's the nature of bigger sizes. Like when I take out my plugs for a few days, my ears shrink prolly to like a 4. Plus I wear glass so like the sizes aren't perfect, so they vary in how thick they are.

But here are my ears at a 4. This pic was taken around last year or so.

I really like those...they're spirals! I love spiraling figures for some reason. The color is really nice too.

A lot of people nowadays seem to do the fake-gauge thing, which is fine if all you're going for is the look. There is something else to it as well, I think, when you actually do stretch them out!

Hee, yeah, I've seen fake gauges, which I don't have a problem with, altho some people in the bod mod community do. But what if you have a job where it's impossible to stretch or even familial obligations?

Thank you! I loved those spirals so much, but I have had a run of bad luck with spirals. The right one fell out of my ear while I was making breakfast, hit the oven then smashed on the tile floor. Same thing happened to my pretty ones here; the right one fell out.

That's very true about the job/family thing with piercings. I occasionally do work in corporate environments where I am always wearing long sleeves for my tattoos so I definitely understand.

Too bad about the spiral earrings...those are really pretty! I love your makeup in that pic btw.

Yes, that's been my reasoning of resisting easily visibly tattoos while I am still in college. I want a lot more than I have now but I don't know what I will be doing in 5/10 years. :/

Thank you! The glitter eyeliner is courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] tourdefierce, she introduced it to me.

And I adore that dragon icon whenever I see it. ♥

Planning ahead? What is that? I thought about that and still though "ehhh screw it" so maybe that's not my strong suit :)

I love this icon. All credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] mcgooglykins. I get 15 and am usually stuck on one for a while. This one just calls out to me these days.
