blamethewizard: (ignore me)

Somewhere along the way, my hopefulness turned to sadness

Ugh. First of all HELLO NEW FRIENDS! I will do a proper "this-is-me" post, but this will not be it. I have some political angst to get rid of before I can sleep properly.

My ancestors were here in 1620, and we haven't moved much. I really do like it here. So, I AM USUALLY SO PROUD TO BE FROM THIS STATE (MA). TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY.  It is such a strange feeling to have, as if I don't know the place I live at all. Weird.

If you're not from the USA, this might make no sense, and if you are, well...I AM SORRY (I'll show you my "I voted" sticker?). (This is where I say, don't blame me, I voted for Kronos?)

Politics make me want to go to grad school abroad, sometimes.

I was surprised when I found out. I guess people are voting with their pocketbooks this time.

I suppose so. Sometimes I just get so frustrated at partisan politics that I can't help a little rant!

At least the position only lasts for 2 years. It will be interesting to see where we are as a country at that time.

Ah, but usually the incumbent has a huge advantage although I don't know if that's going to be true in future. We'll see.

We elected a very conservative governor this past election. I'm not looking forward to seeing how badly he messes up the state. It's bad enough but the last couple of Republican governors really overspent, and gave tax breaks to the rich and we are now hugely in debt. And our last governor, a Democrat, did try but it was like building on sand and he wasn't a very good speaker so he lost reelection (I wasn't happy with him either).
