When you see this, post a poem in your journal

So, because I love poetry and I couldn't pick just one, you get 2 classics from me. Go forth and multiply.

"A Dream Deferred" by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

"Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Ahhh! *dives back*

Heeheee Robert Frost is my homeboy...or, err...he totally would be, if I were alive some time ago. And moved in poetic circles.

And oooh e.e. cummings, very nice :D

Lol, oh I entirely sympathise with that feeling - what with Shakespeare, Virgil, Dickens, Delaunay, Braque and Cummings all being my collective dead bros...

Well, R.Frost might not be my home slice, but I did manage to get his autograph anyway. Thanks, great-aunt Char. Good taste runs in the family. *cough* ANYWAY

I used to have a paper Shakespeare insult-generator tacked to my 'fridge. I consulted it daily.

I'm a science geek with a serious literary and theater problem. Yeah, IDK either. I'm a random person.
