Oh I know, right? I went to Montana for field camp and was SO HAPPY to finally SEE sequences and whatnot without having to use my imagination or trek through underbrush. Plus, LIMESTONE. Most of the limestone here is eroded like woah, and while we do get to see some structures we mostly have the US Highway system to thank for that (yay dynamite!);so many of my fieldtrips were to questionable highwayside locales.

My Petrology teacher tried to recruit me but I was already doing research on sea-level rise at that point and was just starting to nail down the art of foraminifera identification. I wasn't about to give that up to perfect my thin section analysis technique :)
