HELLO FRIENDS NEW AND OLD. HAPPY MARCH!

So..here 3 things that smack of goodness:
1. reel_merlin   signups! Seeing as I've been having a bit of fun with fic writing, I thought I'd try to sign up for something like this.  I read the completed entries over there in the fall and then asked myself "Self, what movie would I want to cross over with Merlin?". And then it hit me and refused to go away...I want a Merlinized version of The Fifth Element. With Arthur!Corbin Dallas and Merlin!Lilu. That's right, Merlin is going to be Milla Jovovich, only with magic instead of martial skills and no orange hair. I might be crazy, BUT I'M EXCITED, FOLKS.

2. March! Which means spring is on its way and kayak season is almost here! (Until I get a drysuit and perfect my roll..then it's on all 4 seasons)

3. Explaining plate tectonics to my coworkers using pizza slices and spatulas for props.

HOLY SHITE, I WAS THINKING OF WRITING A FIFTH ELEMENT FIC FOR REEL MERLIN! But you're welcome to it, if you want -- I only have a sentence and am terrible at finishing, and also wanted to do one based on The Company of Wolves. XD

Oh dear...I haven't officially signed up for it or anything (signups are tomorrow) so it's not really mine...and you've already started! Hmm...well if you want to do it let me know. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the excellence of the idea though :)

I have to admit, I had to Google "The Company of Wolves" but it looks really cool! I also want to see that now.

I adore that film to bits, and it has great potential for a Merlin AU. You go ahead and I will sit on the sidelines telling you how much I can't wait to read it. ;)

My idea will only take one of the scenes from the film, really -- there's this segment where a lord starts a relationship with a lowly maid, and then leaves her pregnant and penniless whilst he gets engaged to a noblewoman. What he neer knew was the poor girl was also a sorceress, and she crashes the wedding feast and curses the entire wedding party into wolves, so that they can serenade her baby at night, forever cursed. Except my idea is that Arthur will be one of the wedding guests, and Merlin has to try and break the curse because he can't bring to murder a heavily pregnant woman who was misused. Except maybe there is a time limit, and he must free Arthur from the curse before the baby is born! And then there are Merlin and wolf!Arthur adventures. Maybe I can work in the other werewolf tales into it as I go on. XD

That sounds really interesting! And I like the idea of Merlin and Wolf!Arthur having adventures.
