1) Computer fixed over a week ago, but still a little absent around here because...

2) I was in the hospital for a week. Infection. Other issues. Was able to read LJ and comment some but didn't get full computer access until Friday.  I remembered how utterly boring hospital stays are. Thankfully, I had recently downloaded a ton of podfic, which seriously SAVED MY SANITY. I feel like I need to write a "Thank you" letter to all those lovely podficcers and possibly buy them presents. Or something.

I also wrote Merlin/Arthur fic in a little notebook, which may or may not be typed up and posted. It's all angsty and probably addled. SPEAKING OF ADDLED...

3) I am so behind with LJ and other online stuff and I'm just beginning to get caught up. SO I ASK YOU, flist, WHAT IS THE 411? WHAT ARE THE COOL JAMS? 

Then again, it's only been a week...but it was a terribly long one over here.

4) In my addled state, I pre-ordered Merlin Season 1 on DVD from Amazon, WHICH IS COOL AND ALL, but it's not coming out until April 26th and I wasn't going to buy it until next month. I was supposed to spend my March self-allocated ~$30 "monthly extras" budget on a paid LJ account (I KNOW, I'M LAME AND BEHIND THE TIMES) but in some kind of excited haze I forgot. It's probably because....

5) I saw the little "Merlin Season Premiere" corner thingy pop up on the SyFy channel and got a little too excited. I think I pointed at the screen and said "OMG look" which probably looked silly and frankly was silly because it's not like I didn't know it was coming. Maybe it was just my response to seeing Colin Morgan's face on my television screen...I've only ever seen it on a laptop. I'm looking forward to the marathon next Sunday.

Speaking of things to do on a Sunday...

7) Today my friend and I took a little trip to an abandoned state mental hospital to walk around and take some photos. We're kind of UrbEx addicts and while this wasn't exactly that it was a nice trip nonetheless. I love abandoned places/things and while today wasn't great for photos (too sunny!) it was beautiful to walk around. I don't know if any of you are interested in that kind of thing (and my digital camera is a little crappy) but here are are a few of the photos if you'd like to see them:








  



















8) I came back to my LJ to feeling the need for new icons. I need to go clicking around for more, but definitely have things I need to be doing instead. I could keep them but having 15 at a time means I need to refresh my stock instead of adding to it. IDK why I am mentioning this. ANYONE OUT THERE MAKE ICONS??? POINT ME TO YOUR CREATIONS!!

And I've been getting far too excited over the Merlin advertisements too. I get this goofy look on my face every time one pops up. Sometimes I squeak. Very embarrassing *g* It's so awesome to see them on t.v. rather than on my computer. I rewatched series one when NBC played it last summer and was inordinately giddy over the experience. Total Merlin NERD alert :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one squeaking when that little ad pops up. MERLIN, WHY SO EXCITING??

Ghost Hunters would probably have a lot of fun there. We visited the hospital cemetery too, which had to open in 1918 after the town complained they were taking over the town's due to so many influenza deaths during the epidemic. At one point we were checking out this one building, peering in some windows, and this cyclone of leaves picked up right where we were standing and went on for a wayyy too long. So we said "We come in peace!!"

OMG I don't even know what's happened, a week is too long for me to remember lol. LOL I freaked out when Merlin previews were on TV here as well - every single time, too. Once, I came into the kitchen after watching the ad, and got Dad to feel my heartbeat, and he was like "Have you been running?" and I was like "No, the ad for Merlin was just on!" :D

Podfic is amazing...I didn't know if I was going to like it or not, but I tried it and was hooked. It makes me want to try and record some. I really enjoyed eos_rose, pennyplainknits and FayJay as readers. I got everything from merlinpodfic, which I am so glad to have found!

Thanks for the update! The more I think about it I feel kinda silly for feeling like I missed things in only a week, but it did feel like a very long one.

The state hospital grounds were very beautiful. It was very quiet there, too, except for a few crows (which was very appropriate, I think). It made us think of how busy and full of noise the place probably used to be, with doctors and patients and life.

The marathon is indeed next Sunday! I'm hoping to be able to catch some of it. I don't usually watch SyFy too much but they re-run Star Trek:TNG episodes every week so I caught the little ad then.

The abandoned hospital is a ghostly place, but also very beautiful. We had a good time walking around there.

Abandoned buildings are creepy but fun to explore. I have a strange fascination with the things people leave behind (like the junk pile behind the hospital which was full of everything from old wheelchairs to 50's-style refrigerators)

Merlin! Yes, this month. I've missed most of the ads but that's okay. I suppose you heard about SyFy!fail with regards to Gwen's description. I believe they've fixed it.

As for Bradley's jumper, oh, my. It was like a Bridget Jones moment.

As for what you've missed, merlinxarthur is having weekly discussions which have been great. merlin_love started up and they've had 2 parties so far and a rec list on Wed.

I just heard about the SyFy character-description debacle. I headed over to the website to read the descriptions and it appears that Gwen's is "fixed" in that there are no more comments on her looks, but the bios for all them are still a little weird I think.
