As I'm sure most of you are aware, EXCITING NEWS TODAY THAT GIVES ME HOPE FOR HUMANITY

I'm happy to live in a state that allows my friends to get married regardless of their sexual orientation, but it hasn't yet spread to other states as I always hoped it would. I hope this is a sign that might be changing and that this sets the bar for <i>every</i> other state to follow suit.

Went to 2 staffing agencies today, and now have 2 interviews set up for tomorrow. This makes me happy too. I'm excited about tomorrow!

Aaaand I know I just gave away one pair, and I don't want to seem like I'm looking to pawn stuff off to other people, but DAMNIT I AM CELEBRATING NOW SO HAVE SOME MORE EARRINGS PEOPLE

Ok, so I put these together the other day just to see how fine a chain I could manipulate with my current equipment, so they're not store-bought perfect. There is a bit of scoring on one of the links and some small imperfections, although that right earring is twisted in the below pic you can ignore that, it's really not that kinked. They are constructed from parts of a pair of earrings I never wore and parts of a choker I deconstructed. Plus some links added to pull things together. They came out pretty well, I think.

Anyway, if you want 'em, let me know. If you want a better idea of how they hang, I can provide a pic of my strange self wearing them (of course they'll be sterilized before I send them anywhere.

In other news, I have been inhaling napthalene because my mom keeps bailing on me when I try to put the carpet she moth-ball-bombed in the basement. It's making me really nauseous...I had no idea how toxic that stuff is I mean, I knew it was bad to inhale, but I didn't think it could make one that sick so fast. Yikes.

I can't really manipulate the carpet myself or I'd have put it away already.

Ok, time to go iron my other skirt suit.

I'm so not an earrings person, but I think I kind of love those if no one else loves them.

You need to get that carpet away from you, that's no good. Though it makes me think of Mythbusters when they blew up a house with bug bombs...I think they did. It could have been the replicating the myth part. But still, you could tell your mom that you could blow a house up with those.

Good luck with all the interviews/agencies! *crosses fingers* And yay California! It's honestly one of the things I don't get. It comes between equal rights for everyone and unequal rights for some people. At the base of it, if it two consenting adults, there really shouldn't be much more needed to be done about it.

Thankfully we've moved the carpet into the basement. I'm going to figure out the best way to dispose of the remaining box..it's sealed up, but I don't really want it around. Apparently they used to use this stuff all the time when my mom was younger. My response? Yes, well, they used to use Crisco all the time too. Now we don't.

You can totally have the earrings! They'll be going to a good home.

OMG I'm so excited about the prop 8 news!!! Now if WI would get on board. It's so weird, the majority of WI is democratic but we had a law a few yrs ago that got passed that got rid of common law marriage (that is 7yrs together=married) AND gay marriage along with it. I'm still bitter over this loss. As I said to everyone, it doesn't matter if you agree with homosexual marriage or not, these are civil rights they're taking away. First they go after these people, then they come after you and who will be left to stand up for you?

Also, those earrings are SUPER cute!! I'll totes wear them if no one else wants to. I love blue, I canna halp it.

There are still a lot of people here in MA who are against it and try to get the law that allows gay marriage reversed.

We don't have common law marriages here either, but I think that's the case in most states nowadays. Civil rights are a problem everywhere. Sometimes I get mad about what happens here, but then again there are a lot of places in the world in which women still don't have a lot of basic rights...so I guess we are all humanity in progress.

The earrings went fast, and I feel bad that I don't have multiple pairs to offer you! However...you said you liked blue, and I have this pair I am working on that has a dark blue bead that has some silver too like the others:



They still need finishing, and some love (the silver needs fixing up) but you can have them when they're done if you like. I'm always working on something too!

I totally agree--in the long run, we are taking steps (strides even compared to others) in the right direction. But I still get upset because it's a slippery slope and I fear the worst.

I also get worried sometimes, too, and as a society we are always debating the issues of equity against efficiency and security against liberty. Most people have a slightly different meaning for each one of those things and they even take on different implications for different situations anyway. If that makes any sense.

I'm glad you like them....I liked those little silver knot things and I thought they looked sort of Merlin-ish (that's an adjective now) so you've got the blue and the pearl for wisdom too.

The interviews are today! I had one and it went really well...not sure the company is for me though. We'll see what kind of offer they come back with if they decide they like me.

I'm really excited about this next interview though. I might pay less but it's so close to where I live!

I did get rid of that thing. I already feel better today too, which is good and much better for the appetite!

It makes me wonder what kind of effect this stuff had on people back when they used to use it all the time, without them knowing how bad it was!
